wheel bore styles:

aftermarket OEM
  • characterized by the smaller chamfer
  • either cut into the wheel or hubcentric ring
  • 8mm Version 1 spacers require flipping hubcentric ring (see below)
  • 2,3,4 or 5mm and 15mm or larger spacers work without issue
  • does not work with any 10 or 12mm spacers!
  • characterized by the larger chamer
  • found on ALL OEM wheels
  • found some aftermarket wheels (like BBS)
  • larger hubcentricrings on aftermarket wheels can be machined to create this more. ECS can perform this serivce for on-premise installations only.
  • fits 8mm or larger spacers without issue

LEFT: 8mm Version 1 spacers installed on the front of VW/Audi's leaven only a small portion of the hub exposed and thus require that the hub-centric ring supplied with the wheel be flipped leaving a sharp edge for the wheel to center on the hub. RIGHT: Demonstrated in the picture you can see how the smaller chamfer of most aftermarket wheels does not fit the larger chamfer of an OEM style taper on the 8mm Version 2 spacers.
