Design Engineer

An applicant for this position should have a thorough understanding of how automotive systems work prior to joining the ECS Tuning team. This knowledge is imperative when designing new parts or modifying components within a system which will be a core function of this position. Every design is a mixture of compromises and when designing aftermarket parts, we often trade one compromise for another (i.e., a stiffer bushing to gain more control over suspension link position in exchange for increased harshness). The designer needs to be intimately aware of how each component within a system functions to know how changes or upgrades will affect the rest of the system, and ultimately, vehicle safety and performance.   • Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering and design analysis for new product development using Faro CMM and Laser scanner with Polyworks inspection and reverse engineering software.
  • Create models and prints for new product development using Solidworks
  • Research viability of new product ideas
  • Specify tolerances, materials, manufacturing processes, heat treatment, coatings and bill of materials
