Compared to the stock N54 ignition coils the B58 coils are capable of producing 2.3x the energy output while providing a longer spark duration than the Precision Raceworks N54/N55 coils. The B58 coils are a coil on plug design that removes the need for additional spark plug wires and utilizes the same mounting location as the stock coils providing excellent clearance for top mount turbo setups. To mount the B58 coils onto the N54 engine the folks at Nexsys developed a billet aluminum bracket that's Made in the USA. In addition to excellent fitment, the N54 Ignition Coil Kit with coils fitted weighs only 3.9 lbs. To make installation easier, they've designed plug and play connectors that are made of nylon and Made in the USA. To keep the installation clean they've added cut outs for passing the coil harness through and radius's have been chamfered on both sides. This kit comes with new ignition coil boots that are longer than the stock boots. These longer boots are a requirement for cars running stock or VTT valve covers. The stock engine cover does fit with this kit!

Spark Plug Note: While some enthusiasts have had success utilizing their stock or upgraded N54 spark plugs with a B58 Ignition Coil conversion, we highly recommend swapping your spark plugs to new B58 spark plugs. This ensures proper fitment of the B58 coil and optimal spark plug operation. This is due to the difference in the spark plug terminal connector between the N54 and B58 plug. The N54 plug has a standard clamp design terminal, whereas the B58 plug terminal features a "cup" design. This difference could result in a poor electrical connection between the B58 coil and N54 plug, resulting in a weak spark and potential misfires.
