The factory installs a skid panel on vehicles to protect the underside of the engine bay from dirt and light debris. Generally made of ABS plastic, the shields do an admirable job of keeping the engine bay fairly clean and dry. Where they do fall short is in impact protection. Although lightweight and easy to remove, these plastic panels will not protect the engine bay from large or heavy debris and they will not prevent a damaged oil pan in the event of bottoming out. If your vehicle's ride height has been lowered, you are familiar with the cringe-inducing feeling of creeping up driveways and into some parking lots.
Enter, Race Skids. These skid "plates" are made out of heavy-duty 10-gauge steel, bringing you true protection to the underside of your engine. Steel will not warp or deform through the changes of season or heat cycles of the engine and is extremely resistant to the cracking and tearing so common in ABS skid panels In the event of a bottom out or curb impact, your oil pan will not be the first thing to take the brunt of the impact. Additionally, large or heavy debris and snow accumulation and ice chunks are a worry of the past. A dented oil pan is a headache, but an unchecked oil leak caused by a cracked or otherwise damaged pan can lead to a seized motor.
The powder coated finish really sets these apart from the rest. While some may question the necessity of powder coating a part that spends its life on the underside of a vehicle, consider the benefits of coated metal versus bare metal. First, a coated metal surface is far more resistant to oxidation and corrosion. Second, initial installation and subsequent removal and install is made easier and safer with a smooth coated surface than a bare metal piece. Finally, having a coating makes the metal much easier to clean and maintain. Having the option to simply wipe something clean is a nice to have on a part that remains somewhat visible underneath the car.

New/Unused Product Returns
ECS Tuning will accept returns for unused products within 90 days of the ship date for a refund to the original payment method used. The customer is responsible for the return shipping costs and fees. If selecting to use a prepaid shipping label, the shipping cost will be deducted from the total refunded amount. All new/unused products must be new, unused and must be in the original packaging, including labeling, manuals, hardware, etc. Special order parts are non-refundable.
In the event that we find an error on our website or on behalf of an ECS Tuning Representative, we will provide a return shipping label from the original delivery location.
Refused Packages
Any domestic orders that are returned to ECS Tuning as refused by receiver or non-deliverable will be subject to a return handling fee and will be processed as a return in compliance with our standard return policy, including a 15% restocking fee.
Any international orders that are refused at the time of delivery will be subject to carrier abandonment of the package, at which time the ordered products would be discarded by the carrier. The customer will not be refunded for the value of the order and the discarded products are no longer retrievable.

To get started, simply log into your ECS Tuning account, Click the "View Orders" button on the My Account home page and select the order that you wish to make a return on to begin. Please note: Refunds will be processed to the original payment method used on the order or to an in store credit, respective to the type of return that is made as well as any pre-existing arrangements with an ECS Tuning Customer Service Representative. In the event that multiple forms of payment were used, we will refund the value to an in store credit. In the event that a return label is provided, these charges may be deducted from the total refund you receive.
Original shipping costs are non-refundable and the buyer is responsible for return shipping charges. ECS Tuning will not accept COD deliveries.
All in store credit balances will expire after one year from the original purchase date.
