BMW’s factory charge pipes are prone to cracking as they are made from plastic that becomes brittle over time due to numerous heat cycles. ECS sells several brands of replacement charge pipes that are typically made from cast aluminum for increased reliability and superior engine bay appearance. We recommend upgrading to hard charge pipes, even on stock forced induction vehicles, to avoid cracking and splitting on high mileage cars and high horsepower builds.
