BMW designed your air intake system in a way that put the intake air temperature sensor close to the engine, this can cause intake temperature readings to be higher than reality. When the ECU reads these warm temperatures it makes adjustments to the fuel delivery causing a loss in performance since its well known cooler air increases performance.

The Turner Motorsport relocation harness offers a clean OE appearance to the modification allowing the IAT sensor to be moved closer to the filter itself providing real world air temperatures.
