The factory-installed plastic gears in S65 and S85 throttle body actuators are prone to degradation due to constant mechanical stress, vibration, and heat cycling. After years of use, internal actuator gear wear leads to excessive play, improper throttle response, and eventual failure�often triggering DME trouble codes, limp mode, and DSC malfunctions.
