New F8x Aluminum Heat Exchanger

BMW's S55 uses a unique water-to-air charge air cooler. While this cooler is located inside the intake manifold, it relies on a front-mounted heat exchanger for heat dissipation. Many enthusiasts have found that this heat exchanger is a limiting factor when it comes to extracting more horsepower and torque from the twin-turbocharged-platform. Its single-row, 27mm core is quick to heat soak, resulting in sky-high-IATs and subsequently sending the DME into limp-home-mode.

To solve this issue, Turner Motorsport has-designed an all-aluminum, performance-oriented heat exchanger suitable for street-focused, high-horsepower builds, track-oriented vehicles, and everything in between. To improve upon the factory design, Turner engineers started by addressing the weak, failure-prone plastic end tanks. Constructed from durable 5052 aluminum and TIG-welded for added strength, these end tanks are guaranteed to outlast the factory design. Additionally, the end tanks feature CNC-machined billet aluminum hose connectors, flanges, and brackets. This ensures seamless integration with the factory hoses�and mounting provisions, providing a trouble-free fit and effortless installation.
