Porsche 955/957 Cayenne Driveshaft Bearing
If you hear or feel a thumping under your center console while turning corners or accelerating, it's likely the center support bearing in your cardan shaft has failed.
Inspect the rubber around the bearing for tears, and move the driveshaft to check for excessive play at the bearing. A damaged bearing should be replaced immediately to prevent further damage.
If you take your Cayenne to the dealer, they will recommend replacing the entire driveshaft. ECS offers several solutions that don’t require replacing the whole unit.
