Something, something, something, Dieselgate. Yes, the engine at the center of the massive and ongoing controversy is found in the MK5 Jetta TDI which resulted in the majority of examples bought back and subsequently sequestered, crushed, or otherwise ‘missing.’ However, owners tended to love these cars. Some examples were recalled, fixed, and reintroduced, as they were incredibly well loved for their efficiency, power, and sophistication. Wherever you stand on the TDI argument, the engine is unequivocally wonderful despite its flaws and presents an excellent option for enthusiasts as a daily driver.
