If your check engine light is illuminated due to a misfire, chances are that one or more of your ignition coil packs has failed.
Ignition coils are responsible for sending electricity to the spark plugs to ignite the fuel and air mixture inside of the combustion chamber. If the coil has failed, the spark plug will not fire, and the fuel and air mixture will not burn, resulting in lost power, poor acceleration, poor idle quality and decreased fuel economy.
The only remedy for this is to replace the failed ignition coil packs with new units. If you are replacing ignition coils, now is the opportune time to replace your spark plugs as well. ECS Tuning carries a full line of ignition components for your Mercedes-Benz to help you keep it running as well as it did when it was new.
