If your original plastic shifter cable end links are leaving you with a soft, mushy shifter feel and aren't up to the task of banging gears , it may be time for an upgrade! Our engineering team was tasked with three complex goals: (1. Create a strong, solid connection from the shifter cable to the transmission, (2. Make it easy to adjust, and (3. Execute a beautifully designed, smooth exterior body.
Our team of passionate automotive enthusiasts designed and engineered the ECS Shifter Cable End Links to replace all signs of plastic and rubber at the transmission-side of the shifter cable assembly. Plastic end links with solid bushings are good, but to get the most out of each shift our Motorsport-inspired solid cable connection is able to withstand the tasks of constant abuse of extremely fast gear changes over and over again, whether on the street or race track. You can have greater confidence in each shift by eliminating deflection caused by the OEM plastic shifter cable housing as our housing fully encapsulates the shifter bushing in solid aluminum.
The billet aluminum housings start with a chunk of 6061-T6 aluminum that is machined to our tight tolerances for precise fitment and solid connections. The housing body is smooth and features no exterior hardware for a clean, seamless appearance that is pleasant to see under the hood. It's black anodized for long lasting corrosion protection, a subtle appearance upgrade that is race-inspired and compliments other ECS Tuning Shifting Upgrades.
The billet housings are attached to the OE shifter cables with a creative engineering solution: Adjustable, billet aluminum threaded inserts. The billet inserts feature four set screws to provide the clamping force of a bear's jaws! When tightened down evenly the set screws grip the shifter cable with might, providing a strong, stable connection that will never let go! These flat point set screws grip the groove within the shifter cable, providing a solid, reinforced connection.
The shifter cable housing makes it final, solid connection the transmission shift levers by our ECS Bronze Solid Shifter Bushings. The ECS shifter bushings are constructed of a precisely engineered and CNC machined high-tensile strength 932 Bearing Bronze for long lasting wear and abrasion resistance. The bushings require no lubrication and require no service over the life of the part.
The final adjustment procedure is simple and effective with our threaded insert and mating shifter housing. Simply thread the shifter cable housings in or out to meet the bronze shifter bushing alignment and tighten the jam nuts.
All parts of this kit are designed and engineered in house at our Wadsworth, Ohio facility and are made right here in the U.S.A.!
