Introducing the FMINT24, a high-performance intercooler engineered specifically for MQB platforms housing the EA888 GEN4 Engine. Crafted, designed, and rigorously tested at their headquarters in Gloucester, UK, the FMINT24 embodies Forge's commitment to enhancing both the efficiency and performance of the EA888 GEN4 powerplant.
In tackling the challenge of limited space within the MQB chassis, where the intercooler must share its domain with the radiator and air conditioning condenser, they embarked on a mission to optimize airflow and reduce inlet air temperatures without compromising boost pressure or engine/transmission cooling. This endeavor necessitated a meticulous approach to design and engineering.
Leveraging advanced scanning software alongside traditional measuring methods, they meticulously crafted the FMINT24's design, fine-tuning it through cutting-edge flow dynamics simulations (CFD). Initial end tank prototypes were swiftly produced via 3D printing, ensuring precise fitment before advancing to dyno testing.
Diverse baffle configurations were explored and meticulously simulated to extract maximum performance while preserving core functionality and cooling efficiency. Their focus then shifted to enhancing the silicone hoses, strategically incorporating steps to seamlessly transition airflow and minimize turbulence. Inlet and outlet sizes were significantly increased to 76mm, a 45% boost over OEM dimensions, resulting in a remarkable 83% increase in core volume compared to the stock intercooler.
Forge developed multiple intercooler cores with varying fin configurations and capacities. After rigorous testing, they selected a bar and plate design, boasting over 83% greater volume than stock and a 10% increase in frontal area.
Forge's commitment to precision extends beyond core design to encompass comprehensive testing protocols. Each application undergoes scrutiny with different core styles, fin pitches, and internal configurations, allowing us to fine-tune pressure drop characteristics for optimal performance across the rev range.
Collaborating with Performance Remap in Gloucester, Forge subjected the FMINT24 to rigorous dynamometer testing, delivering tangible results: an 11bhp increase in peak power and a substantial torque gain throughout the rev range. Notably, the FMINT24 significantly outperformed OEM in reducing inlet air temperatures, enhancing engine performance and reliability even under demanding conditions.
In warmer climates, the FMINT24 shines, mitigating the adverse effects of heat soak and ensuring consistent engine performance. By regulating and reducing air temperatures, it not only enhances combustion efficiency but also safeguards against premature engine wear.
Installation is a breeze, with the FMINT24 seamlessly integrating into OEM mounting points without any cutting required. Finished with a black textured anti-corrosion coating, it not only enhances thermal properties but also maintains a stealthy OEM+ appearance.

New/Unused Product Returns
ECS Tuning will accept returns for unused products within 90 days of the ship date for a refund to the original payment method used. The customer is responsible for the return shipping costs and fees. If selecting to use a prepaid shipping label, the shipping cost will be deducted from the total refunded amount. All new/unused products must be new, unused and must be in the original packaging, including labeling, manuals, hardware, etc. Special order parts are non-refundable.
In the event that we find an error on our website or on behalf of an ECS Tuning Representative, we will provide a return shipping label from the original delivery location.
Refused Packages
Any domestic orders that are returned to ECS Tuning as refused by receiver or non-deliverable will be subject to a return handling fee and will be processed as a return in compliance with our standard return policy, including a 15% restocking fee.
Any international orders that are refused at the time of delivery will be subject to carrier abandonment of the package, at which time the ordered products would be discarded by the carrier. The customer will not be refunded for the value of the order and the discarded products are no longer retrievable.

ECS Tuning now offers an online returns solution! To get started, simply log into your ECS Tuning account, Click the "View Orders" button on the My Account home page and select the order that you wish to make a return on to begin. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our Customer Service Team for assistance!
Please note: Refunds will be processed to the original payment method used on the order or to an in store credit, respective to the type of return that is made as well as any pre-existing arrangements with an ECS Tuning Customer Service Representative. In the event that multiple forms of payment were used, we will refund the value to an in store credit. In the event that a return label is provided, these charges may be deducted from the total refund you receive.
Original shipping costs are non-refundable and the buyer is responsible for return shipping charges. ECS Tuning will not accept COD deliveries.
All in store credit balances will expire after one year from the original purchase date.
