At Unitronic, development begins with setting the objectives; performance, efficiency, aesthetics and quality. Operations start with 3D scanning the engine bay, exhaust tunnel and OEM components of our in-house 8Y S3 development vehicle. Once 3D scan data has been collected and processed, Unitronic Hardware Engineers then interact with the 3D models to identify fitment constraints, mounting locations, other component locations, etc. to ensure the final product fits perfectly within the “envelope”, while achieving the objectives and intent of the product.
Throughout the research and development phase of this 8Y S3 exhaust system, sound both inside and outside the cabin are also very important factors. Unitronic Engineers studied the muffler configuration and acoustics of the OEM Audi Sports Exhausts found on the 8V.2 Audi RS 3 and 8S TT RS, which inspired the acoustic design for this application and feature high density, high temperature fiber glass packing to ensure maximum performance and a sportier sound are achieved while maintaining a comfortable tone inside the cabin.
Exiting at the rear, exhaust gasses pass through available 4.5” oval tips for the Golf R Cat-Back or 4” round, slash cut polished or black PVD* tips for the Golf R and S3 Cat-Back for a more aggressive, motorsport inspired look.
In order to accommodate the longer rear bumper and diffuser of the 8Y S3, Unitronic Engineers designed specific tail pipe tubes for the S3 Cat-Back Exhaust System, which are longer than the Golf R versions and offer the same valve functionality with multiple tip options.
This Unitronic Cat-Back Exhaust System can be easily mated to the factory downpipe, for customers looking to obtain a sportier exhaust note which retains the OEM valve functionality. Or for the ultimate performance enhancement, this exhaust system can also be paired with Unitronic's Stage 2 Performance Software and upcoming MQB EVO4 AWD Downpipe.
Unitronic Exhaust Systems feature a unique sealing v-band fastening system that uses T316 stainless steel flanges and a locking ring to guarantee a centric alignment of the two v-band flanges which ensures a leak proof connection every time.
Like all Unitronic Performance Hardware, this 8Y S3 Exhaust System offers direct bolt-on fitment, retaining the factory mounting locations in order to simplify the installation process. They also carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty to the original retail purchaser against manufacturing defects or craftsmanship flaws as well.

New/Unused Product Returns
ECS Tuning will accept returns for unused products within 90 days of the ship date for a refund to the original payment method used. The customer is responsible for the return shipping costs and fees. If selecting to use a prepaid shipping label, the shipping cost will be deducted from the total refunded amount. All new/unused products must be new, unused and must be in the original packaging, including labeling, manuals, hardware, etc. Special order parts are non-refundable.
In the event that we find an error on our website or on behalf of an ECS Tuning Representative, we will provide a return shipping label from the original delivery location.
Refused Packages
Any domestic orders that are returned to ECS Tuning as refused by receiver or non-deliverable will be subject to a return handling fee and will be processed as a return in compliance with our standard return policy, including a 15% restocking fee.
Any international orders that are refused at the time of delivery will be subject to carrier abandonment of the package, at which time the ordered products would be discarded by the carrier. The customer will not be refunded for the value of the order and the discarded products are no longer retrievable.

Please note: Refunds will be processed to the original payment method used on the order or to an in store credit, respective to the type of return that is made as well as any pre-existing arrangements with an ECS Tuning Customer Service Representative. In the event that multiple forms of payment were used, we will refund the value to an in store credit. In the event that a return label is provided, these charges may be deducted from the total refund you receive.
Original shipping costs are non-refundable and the buyer is responsible for return shipping charges. ECS Tuning will not accept COD deliveries.
All in store credit balances will expire after one year from the original purchase date.
