At Unitronic, it's no secret that they're huge fans of the playful MQB/MQB EVO platforms. These wildly popular cars offer great balance, nimble handling with plenty of headroom for tuning. Being primarily front wheel drive biased, there are some shortcomings like wheel hop and drivetrain slop which can take away from the overall experience once tuned but the all-new Dogbone Mount Upgrades from Unitronic seek to address all that and more!
For performance oriented customers that like to push their cars a little bit harder on spirited drives or at the track, this upgrade is crucial to help put power down to the ground and firm up the drivetrain for a more sporty experience which does not introduce excessive cabin NVH.
Consistent with all of its performance products, Unitronic utilizes only the latest industry leading tools, equipment and computer aided design software that are packed with the latest technology from our technology partners at Creaform® and Stratasys®. Operations start with 3D scanning the subframe, engine, transmission, and OEM components with its in-house 3D scanner. Once 3D scan data has been collected and processed, Unitronic Hardware Engineers then interact with the 3D models to identify fitment constraints, mounting locations, other component locations, etc. to ensure the final product fits perfectly within the “envelope”.
Throughout the research and development phase of these specific Unitronic Dogbone Mounts for DQ381 equipped vehicles, special attention was paid to bushing hardness and as a result, a new green bushing was developed in order to help keep NVH down on 4-cylinder applications while providing a tremendously improved driving experience. It was also important for us to retain the modular system which was very popular for the 8V.2 / 8S platforms, allowing customers to choose between different inserts in order to suit varying driving styles.
For 4-cylinder applications, the green poly bushings are ideal for street use, spirited driving and the occasional track day. For race oriented builds, high power and track-only type vehicles, the yellow poly bushings work best and firm up the chassis even more. Red poly bushings are reserved for 5-cylinder DQ500 track-only use.
Unitronic’s Dogbone Arm and Endcaps are 5-axis CNC machined from T7075 billet Aluminum; and feature a black anodized finish. Unique to Unitronic’s design, are CNC machined Nylon inserts, which isolate them from the subframe to mitigate possible damage from extenuating heat radiated from the exhaust system. In addition, they facilitate an easier straight forward installation that allows the installer to install the mount on the vehicle without having to disassemble the subframe.
Finally, and most importantly, Unitronic opted to use polyurethane for its bushings due to its excellent damping and rebound properties. Polyurethane is known to withstand cyclic loading under varying operating conditions that contribute to its durability.

All you need is your order number and email address.
New/Unused Product Returns
ECS Tuning will accept returns for unused products within 90 days of the ship date for a refund to the original payment method used. The customer is responsible for the return shipping costs and fees. If selecting to use a prepaid shipping label, the shipping cost will be deducted from the total refunded amount. All new/unused products must be new, unused and must be in the original packaging, including labeling, manuals, hardware, etc. Special order parts are non-refundable.
In the event that we find an error on our website or on behalf of an ECS Tuning Representative, we will provide a return shipping label from the original delivery location.
Refused Packages
Any domestic orders that are returned to ECS Tuning as refused by receiver or non-deliverable will be subject to a return handling fee and will be processed as a return in compliance with our standard return policy, including a 15% restocking fee.
Any international orders that are refused at the time of delivery will be subject to carrier abandonment of the package, at which time the ordered products would be discarded by the carrier. The customer will not be refunded for the value of the order and the discarded products are no longer retrievable.

To get started, simply log into your ECS Tuning account, Click the "View Orders" button on the My Account home page and select the order that you wish to make a return on to begin. Please note: Refunds will be processed to the original payment method used on the order or to an in store credit, respective to the type of return that is made as well as any pre-existing arrangements with an ECS Tuning Customer Service Representative. In the event that multiple forms of payment were used, we will refund the value to an in store credit. In the event that a return label is provided, these charges may be deducted from the total refund you receive.
Original shipping costs are non-refundable and the buyer is responsible for return shipping charges. ECS Tuning will not accept COD deliveries.
All in store credit balances will expire after one year from the original purchase date.
