A known weakness with the 2.0T engine, the factory diverter valve diaphragm has a tendency to wear and crack under stock boost pressure levels. The rubber material chosen for the diaphragm cannot withstand consistent boost diversion, and certainly will not contain the added boost levels that accompanies performance modifications.
