It's common tuner wisdom that increasing airflow & reducing exhaust restrictions increases an engine's ability to make power. Of course, more available air only translates to increased power output when an engine's ECU adjusts to this new condition by adding more fuel to the mixture. The importance of a superior-performing fuel pump should be obvious - the majority of power modifications place extra demands on this part, posing the risk of fuel cutouts or fuel pump failure.
