Don't settle for a new water pump for your N52; demand a "wasserpumpe" from Germany, by Pierburg. The N52 coolant pump is not belt-driven. N54 engines are high performance turbocharged powerplants that generate lots of heat. That's why their electrically-operated water pump is so critical to overall performance, improvements in fuel economy, and protection from internal damage caused by overheating.
