If you have inspected your engine, you probably have noticed your VW has a plastic intake manifold. This plastic intake manifold is prone to failure due to the runner flap drive linkage separating from the assembly. The result is a major air leak and fault codes. The fix for this broken linkage unfortunately is to replace your entire intake manifold. To avoid getting your hands dirty twice we recommend replacing your intake manifold when performing a carbon cleaning. Symptoms of carbon buildup include poor fuel economy, rough idle, and a decrease in power output.
