A known weakness with the 2.0T engine, the factory diverter valve diaphragm has a tendency to wear and crack under stock boost pressure levels. The rubber material chosen for the diaphragm cannot withstand consistent boost diversion, and certainly will not contain the added boost levels that accompanies performance modifications. This plastic intake manifold is prone to failure due to the runner flap drive linkage separating from the assembly. The result is a major air leak and fault codes. The fix for this broken linkage unfortunately is to replace your entire intake manifold.
