The problem is widespread and chronic: cam followers for the high pressure fuel pump in FSI engines are prone to wear. Savvy FSI owners periodically pull the pump and check the follower to avoid costly fuel pump and camshaft damage. Symptoms of a failing cam follower include loss of power, rough running, and an illuminated check engine light. To help you understand and mitigate the problem, we've put together a photo tutorial that demonstrates how to inspect and replace your cam follower. The super-slick black billet aluminum cap by ECS corrects this oversight, while adding another dimension of increased longevity, durability, and ease of use. The ECS housing requires no special tools to install the cap; all you'll need is a common 32mm socket or box wrench

Over time your wipers start moving slower and start to skip until the linkage freezes up. Occasionally, simply replacing wiper blades is not enough to keep your windshield reliably clean. If the transmission or linkage is damaged, your wiper action may slow or begin skipping, until eventually the motor spins freely, ceasing wiper arm movement entirely. Changing the windshield wiper transmission allows for a secure connection between the motor and wipers, giving you peace of mind that your Audi is safe and reliable.

When the 2.0T engine was introduced, the rubber diaphragm in the original diverter valve failed regularly, even at stock boost levels. The improved Pierburg diverter valve has a piston valve design that eliminates the original, failure-prone rubber diaphragm. This mechanical design is more durable and is an excellent upgrade for all stock or modified 2.0T FSI & TSI engines. Spend more time driving, less time fixing!

On the B7 S4, a check valve stuck in the open position will drain hydraulic lifters and chain tensioners of oil when the engine is turned off, forcing the car to start with incorrect tolerances in the cylinder head. A rattling sound heard during start up is a typical sign of check valve failure. ECS assembled Oil Check Valve Service Kits include both replacement OEM VW/Audi check valves, a valley pan gasket, oil filter adapter gasket, oil spray valve, and both intake manifold gaskets for a thorough cylinder head servicing.

The belly pans provided for modern Audi’s have always appeared to be under-engineered, out of place, cost-cutting parts. Many enthusiasts have chosen to run their cars without this protective cover entirely. This decision, however, ignores the unfortunate reality that the belly pan protects several critical engine and drivetrain components. Snap rings can be found everywhere, especially on cars. When you come across a snap ring in your repairs often times people use methods that are either not safe or may cause damage to the snap ring or other components. Snap ring pliers make it much easier, I guess you could say it makes the job a "snap". Schwaben offers these pliers in a 5-pc kit so you're completely prepared with multiple sizes and angles.
