Aging coolant tanks can cause several problems, including coolant loss, a leaking pressure cap that lowers system pressure, and a failed low-coolant level sensor. The wiper transmission transfers the movement of the wiper motor to the wiper arms, through use of the linkage, to clear your windshield on a rainy day.
