No matter how smooth your M3 runs or how tight your suspension setup is, loose and vague shift action destroys all the confidence you have in your driving. The rebuild kits available at ECS include everything you need to rebuild your shifter assembly: from the bushings and clips to the dowel pin. To improve your shift feel from factory, you may also choose to replace the soft factory rubber with virgin Teflon rod. Your BMW has an interference engine, which means if the timing chain were to fail for any reason, you would have catastrophic engine damage due to valve to piston contact. Over time the timing chain will start to wear and stretch, potentially causing it to skip timing or just completely fail. Also, the timing tensioners themselves could fail!
