Camshafts move at half the speed of the crank. This means a higher number of degree/duration will open the intake valves faster and keep them open longer as the piston decompresses. Keeping the valve open longer allows for more fuel and air to enter the chamber for combustion, giving you a more powerful stroke upon ignition. On the exhaust side a more aggressive cam helps your engine breath better, by keeping the exhaust valve open longer, giving the burned gases a smoother flow into the exhaust system.

In most vehicle applications, the plastic turbo inlet hoses found in the intake system are not designed for performance or modification.
