Master cylinder braces are a common upgrade to reduce brake booster / master cylinder deflection under sudden, hard braking conditions. This deflection occurs due to the thin firewall material that the brake booster bolts to actually flexing under sudden, hard braking. The VW 2022+ MK8 GTI / Golf R platform is a fantastic vehicle in stock form. One of these cost-saving techniques were at the demise of the pneumatic hood strut, making hood opening a manual chore and leaving the car to feel "cheap." Our Research and Development team saw an opportunity to help make the MK8 platform more user-friendly with an easy-to-install Hood Strut Conversion Kit. Utilizing high-quality corrosion resistant hardware and a custom in-house engineered hood strut, install takes only minutes and there is no loss in hood opening height as compared to the factory prop rod, maintaining under-hood working room.
