The Volkswagen 7L (Touareg 1 & 2), 7P (Touareg 3) and related Porsche Cayenne (955, 957 and 958) platform is an unsuspecting, yet remarkable off-road rig, even in stock form. With some models including a low range transfer case, a locking rear differential and even a height adjustable air ride suspension, these are very capable SUV's for the roads that are less traveled. With all of these great features there are some limitations to how far it can be pushed. Like other trucks and SUV's that tackle the trails you'll need sufficient protection, unless you dare to risk serious damage to critical underbody components as you crawl, creep and drive over treacherous rocks, boulders and steep terrain. As our Engineering Team dove in deeper to the Overland / Off-Road realm we realized the need for a serious skid plate, engineered to properly handle such excursions.

The factory BMW charge pipes are prone to cracking, as they are made from brittle plastic. Here at ECS, we sell several brands of replacement charge pipes that are typically made from cast aluminum. We recommend upgrading to hard charge pipes even on stock forced induction vehicles to avoid cracking - we've seen cracking occur on high mileage cars running stock power just as frequently as we do with high horsepower builds.

The most common N55 intake utilizes a short plastic tube and oversized cone filter; it is your job to have better taste than the common N55 owner. This carbon intake changes the whole image of the N55 engine while maintaining a flow of cool air and added induction noise. With a dual inlet design the engine bay retains its functionality while adding a second inlet to provide your engine with improved air flow and sound. To ensure the engine gets the coolest air possible the second inlet is located in the "sweet spot" on the cold side of the engine for the lowest intake air temps and most air flow possible. The cone filter features a bellmouth velocity stack design to reduce turbulence and maximize flow that creates the satisfying flutter after letting of the throttle. The air box mounts in the stock locations with all supplied hardware included for a beautiful OEM+ upgrade.

Turner Motorsport control arms are designed in-house to be a longer, stronger, and lighter weight alternative to expensive (and boring) OEM replacements. If you're overhauling the front suspension on your E36, this is the right move for you! Turner�s race kit provides +10mm more track width (per side) than stock. Wider track width reduces the amount of load transfer to the outside when cornering, increases cornering power, and allows more inner clearance for meaty wheel and tire setups or brake ducts. Turner�s drift kit provides 65mm more track width (per side) than stock. This kit creates clearance for 60 degrees of steering angle when installed with our Turner angle kit and rack spacers. Their Roll Center Correction Race Kit corrects your roll center and improves handling, it also provides increased steering response and bump steer correction. Thanks to the use of their rack limiters, you can maintain the same steering angle as before, while drastically decreasing steering wheel input. After the kit was installed on a E36 M3 test vehicle equipped with a Z3 2.7 turn lock to lock steering rack, it only required 2 full turns lock to lock. A reduction of 26%! Bump steer is also correctable to virtually 0, thanks to spacers to adjust tie rods up or down. Z3 2.7 Steering Rack will require different rack spacers (see ES4213307). When you lower a car, it drastically changes the geometry of the suspension. While lowering a car makes it handle better by lowering the center of gravity, the roll center is negatively impacted, increasing the roll moment, which causes cornering forces to have more of an effect on the body roll of the vehicle. This is normally ignored because the stiffer lowering springs make the issue less noticeable, but ultimately grip is lost, and body roll is increased. Once the roll center has been corrected it is immediately apparent how much the performance of the vehicle had been suffering prior. By correcting the lower outer ball joint location with the Turner Roll Center Correction Race Kit, the instantaneous center of rotation is raised, bringing the roll center much closer to the center of gravity, and significantly decreasing roll movement. This minimizes body roll, provides more grip, and ultimately leads to an improved and predictable driving feel.

Our ECS Tuning Rear Stress Bar Kit stiffens the chassis in the rear of your MK5/6 in the area most prone to chassis flex during hard cornering or changes in road surfaces. Our Stress Bar helps to stiffen the rear chassis from undesired torsional flexing of the body which allows for faster turn-in speed and flatter cornering, while reducing chassis creaks and groans. Our Rear Stress Bar Kit achieves all of these great benefits while maintaining functionality with the rear seatbacks in all positions, & no noticeable increase in NVH.

Two-Piece rotors were designed specifically for high-performance applications and are significantly more resistant to the effects of heat and friction, lessening the negative effects typically seen with standard rotors. The separation of the friction disk and the rotor hat allows for the rotor ring to expand and helps prevent heat from traveling into other sensitive braking components that could be damaged from prolonged exposure to harsh conditions.
